This position focuses on offering support for financial management, control and audit and the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a sound knowledge of these issues. Ensuring top quality levels, keeping updated with the latest developments in the field, and identifying and implementing new ideas will all be an essential part of day-to-day work. Working together with our existing finance staff, the successful candidate can expect to play an important role in the coming debate about the simplification of European programme management. As an Online Media, our core CMS is built using cutting edge Drupal technology, and enables our editorial team to publish valuable and qualitative content efficiently. We invest in the future of our online portfolio of websites (EurActiv.com, Jobsite and Blogactiv.eu and Press Release Service) by recruiting a PHP – Drupal Developer to work on a variety of projects related to further product development on our core CMS (Drupal) and related websites, integration and migration of databases, re-design and enhancements to the back and front end of our websites. The role will include the customizing and modifying of several core and community Drupal modules.   Responsibilities: Developing back and front end of new functionalities and sections of our website portfolio using PHP and Drupal, integrating with MySQL databases where necessary. Making improvements and bug-fixes to existing websites using PHP and Drupal. Upgrading and migrating Blogactiv, upgrading EU jobsite, developing the Partner’s Intranet and a billing system within the CRM, Euractiv.com re-design and video integration. Assisting in the support of other in-house products and sites. Working with other members of the team to improve existing processes and procedures, and helping to identify new processes Working within the team's Quality Assurance and Testing framework.   Requirements: Essential Skills: excellent XHTML, HTML, CSS, PHP, Drupal 6.x, Javascript, AJAX At least 2 years of hands-on Drupal experience is required as well as being particularly proficient in programming in object oriented PHP and MySQL databases. The successful candidate will have worked on, and developed database driven and transactional websites (sample URLs will be required) within a LAMP environment. The successful candidate will contribute to the EIB’s relations with Civil Society in the framework of the Bank’s Transparency policy, in order to maintain and enhance the Bank’s reputation and accountability, thus promoting also its operational activities.     EuropaBio is the European Association for Bioindustries, bringing together bioscience companies from all fields of research and development, testing, manufacturing and distribution of biotechnology products. It has 74 corporate and 8 associated members, 4 BioRegions and 26 national biotechnology associations representing some 1800 small and medium sized enterprises. We currently have around 15 staff members from all over Europe. To this comes a number of stagiaires - typically, we have 3-4 stagiaires in the office at one time, one in each section.   Tasks/Projects We are a small team, so you will have the opportunity to gain very good all-round-insight into the topics we deal with, and work on a variety of projects. El Parlamento Europeo aprobó la nueva Comisión Europea para el período 2010 - 2014. Estos son los nuevos miembros de la Comisión y su trayectoria profesional. La nueva Comisión debía entrar en funciones en noviembre de 2009, pero su nombramiento se dilató por las demoras en la ratificación del Tratado de Lisboa y la retirada de la candidata búlgara Rumiana Jeleva tras su audiencia en enero. La sustituyó Kristalina Georgieva, Vicepresidenta del Banco Mundial, que compareció ante el Parlamento la semana pasada. Contando al Presidente, componen la Comisión 27 personas, una por cada país miembro, de las cuales 14 ya estaban en equipo anterior, entre ellas el propio Barroso. Su mandato dura cinco años.
